This verse led me to acknowledge the divine presence behind all creation. And it dawned on me that my life—which resembles the sometimes foamy, sometimes calm, yet always flowing nature of a river—is but a drop of water within the vast, cosmic ocean.

As I contemplate this verse, I feel reverence for the world around me. I see that everything—each creature, plant, rock formation, planet, and star—is reflecting not only the universe as a whole, but also the unbounded glory of Lord Shiva. I feel humbled by the divine power that shapes and sustains my life.

What a wonderful way to prepare for the great night of Lord Shiva!
