Recently, while chanting this version of Om Namah Shivaya, I became aware of my own inner courage. I experienced within myself a warrior with infinite courage and inner strength, one whose thoughts of fear and self-doubt had been replaced with joy and trust.

I am beginning to realize, more and more, that I am that fearless warrior.

The month-long focus on Om Namah Shivaya has helped me recognize that this beloved mantra has been my refuge for decades. I play Om Namah Shivaya 24/7 in my house; it soothes my soul, assuages my fears, and connects me to God. It’s my go-to way of sending blessings when a loved one is sick, or when any people, animals, or the planet needs our help.

When I had a recent health scare, I was so pleased to observe that Om Namah Shivaya predominated in my thoughts and heart. When I hear or read about countries in conflict, Om Namah Shivaya is how I pray to send love, strength, and God’s presence to the people there. It’s portable, always available, and love-filled—the greatest gift from our Guru!

This evening, at the Siddha Yoga Meditation Center in Los Angeles, we chanted Om Namah Shivaya, offering the chant, along with our prayers and blessings, for all beings throughout this world.

As the lead group of musicians chanted, we focused our attention on repeating each syllable of the mantra in unison, and uniting every inhalation and exhalation. As the chant progressed, the sense of unity and focus grew, and the power of the chant deepened. The response group chanted in unison as well. All of us were offering our best, immersed together in the power of the mantra. With each repetition, I felt blessings flowing to all beings in the world.

The meditation that followed the chant was pristine—the power of silence and stillness was immeasurably deep. The experience of the heart vibrated so powerfully within.

Twenty-one years ago, a friend kindly introduced me to Siddha Yoga and took me to meet Gurumayi. We chanted the beautiful namasankirtana posted here that evening; it went straight to my heart and carried me away in a flood of love, bringing me the realization that what I had been looking for all my life was in my own heart. My daughter had been in a state of crisis, and she started doing better soon after this.

Now, in the midst of another crisis, I visited the “Prayers and Blessings II” section of the Siddha Yoga path website. As I clicked on this chant, not knowing it was the same one I encountered so many years ago, I find once again that the beautiful melody and the mantra speak powerfully both for my heart and to my heart.

Chanting Om Namah Shivaya with Gurumayi opened a space filled with silence that was so profound and full of peace. What a joy.

As the music of Om Namah Shivaya began to play, I saw a huge wave of the most beautiful blue light and energy encircle me, and I experienced divine bliss, love, and joy. Then I saw myself becoming an effulgent Blue Pearl, and all of a sudden "I" became a much bigger Blue Pearl — planet Earth.

I get absorbed within as I chant this sweet and tender version of the mantra Om Namah Shivaya with Gurumayi. It is an amazing way to pray for myself, my family, and the whole world.

Thank you, Gurumayi, for giving me such a wonderful gift and for your grace in my life.
