Nature in Shree Muktananda Ashram V

On the Siddha Yoga path, we acknowledge the presence of the Divine in all of creation—and this divinity is revealed in myriad forms in the natural world. The beauty and wonder we find in nature can inspire us, as seekers, to recognize the beauty within us and everywhere around us.

The Nature Gallery contains photographs taken in the wondrous environs of Shree Muktananda Ashram, where Gurumayi currently resides. The Ashram is located in upstate New York, surrounded by expansive forests and rolling hills, brimming with wildlife. Take your time as you view the gallery. Allow the images to transport you to the serene stillness of the Guru’s abode, and let nature’s splendor connect you to the splendor of your own great heart.

I regularly look at the pictures of nature in Shree Muktananda Ashram, and I often find favorites that I return to look at during pauses in my daily work schedule. As someone who doesn’t have the opportunity to physically visit these sacred grounds, I find this to be a great gift. I can inwardly transport myself to the Ashram, to that gorgeous nature, where I enjoy the land of my heart.

For me, the most recent series of pictures is extraordinary. I find myself wishing I had the time to meditate on each one. I feel grateful to the sevites who take the pictures and those who make them available to us.

What a profound gift from Gurumayi.

The photos of nature in Shri Muktananda Ashram always capture my heart. Living in the city, I spend little time in nature—a practice Gurumayi often recommends—but viewing these images on the Siddha Yoga path website transports me to the Ashram’s holy grounds and brings me close to Gurumayi, Baba, and Bade Baba.

In early spring, when I saw the new crop of baby deer, my heart leaped with joy. Since then, when I look at the Nature galleries, I check to see how the deer children are doing as they mature into adulthood. The two deer looking through the Ashram window made me laugh out loud!

All the nature photos bring me such joy, and the deer above all.

The photo of the single chair facing Lake Nityananda on a splendid sun-drenched day, adorned with a baby-blue sky, made me dive into a deep space of silence, peace, and contentment. The silence was so palpable! I felt as if Shri Gurumayi were inviting each of us to have a seat and take in this incredible gift from Mother Nature.
