I experienced this video as a beautiful depiction of divine consciousness moving all around us and through us every day! I felt tremendous awe and reverence for Shiva’s hand and its graceful movements. As I watched the falling rain and the melting ice, I became aware that common sights and sounds from nature are a part of that blissful dance. Then I realized that we have the opportunity to recognize beauty, grace, and bliss in every moment.

I am so blessed to be part of the sacred Siddha Yoga path. The video is so powerful and beautiful. As I watched this glorious visual expression of the beauty and art of the Nataraj, I felt invited to the dance. The little lights seemed to me like fireflies or stars in motion, as if each light was a soul, a part of consciousness, Shiva experiencing Shiva. The exquisite hand, gently closing and opening along with the sound of rain, took me into the space of the Madhya—the source of Bliss, ultimately revealing the Blue Pearl.

Every aspect of this video, from the mudras formed by the hand movements to the drops of water on the crystal lingam, completely focused me on silence and drew me to the Heart. There was such tenderness and gentleness as love expanded to every part of my body.

I experienced this video as a compelling invitation to enter into the madhya. First, the tap-tap-tap sounds of Shiva Nataraj’s drum commanded my attention. Then the shimmering hand opened and closed as if gesturing to me to come along for this mystical journey. Next, the bell was gently rung, like a call to prayer or a soft reminder: "Stay with this experience!"
As I watched the water drip from the icicles with the image of the lingam behind it, I realized it was mirroring the way that Shiva is worshiped in the story of "The Hunter and the Deer." And then, little by little, the murmuring sounds of the falling waters and the bell’s sweet tone yielded to stillness, as the mantra filled the screen. How suitable that it appears on a pillar of the bridge at Lake Nityananda! The meditative state into which this video leads me is indeed a pillar of my sadhana, and the mantra is the bridge across which I walk to enter into the madhya deep within.

I love this video! I immediately wanted to watch it again as soon as it ended. A short while later, I was reading the words to the bhajan, Suna Suna Ke Mana, and I felt that the video was an expression of the words of the bhajan. The bell in the video reminded me of the “unstruck sound” described in the bhajan. And, when I read, “O the nectar of divine love drips down unceasingly,” I immediately thought of the image of the melting icicles in the video. The final seconds of the video are so powerful that I easily can glide into meditation afterward.

What a sublime reminder of the “The Scintillating Dance of Lord Shiva” everywhere, in every particle of this world, even in what may seem to be ordinary moments, such as instances of rain falling.
I look out my window on this windy, wintry day in New England and realize that watching the video has changed my perception: the sway of the slender white birch, the rise and fall of the outstretched arms of the maple, the wave of the juniper have all become part of this dance. In my study group tonight, the discussion revolved around the nature of Consciousness, and specifically how to stand in the magnificence of Shiva, while being pushed and pulled by daily life. When I arrived home and saw this video, I felt that the invisible shimmering forces that hold the universe in place were being revealed to all who witness this video honoring Shiva.
